Snow & Ice Oh My

So…it has snowed/iced since Monday evening!! This was what I woke up to yesterday morning ūüôā It was beautiful, I love it when everything looks like it was dusted with powdered sugar! The roads were beyond terrible but the boss still expected me to go in but the hubbs wasn’t letting me drive…so I got chauffeured in. This morning I woke up to a site similar to yesterdays but we had to off road one of our cars b/c the one behind it wouldn’t start, the battery was dead ūüė¶

We have an extra room in our house and we’re turning it into an office!! It’s been so many different rooms b/c we have no one to fill it up with so we decided to make it an office. Here’s the before picture (it’s iphone quality b/c the nice camera’s battery was dead) and I’m about halfway done. I’ll upload finished ones next week! So excited, I’m falling in love ūüôā

Today I am 12dpo, I tested yesterday at 11dpo and it was a BFN…I could have sworn I saw a second line but the hubbs thought I was just imagining things so I’m testing again tomorrow and then again at 14dpo, 15dpo, and 16dpo. I hope by then I’ll actually see something or AF will finally show up. We really want to try again soon but if we’re not pregnant then we need AF to show up so we can get to trying ūüôā I only have one cycle left to try till Julyish time b/c of the hubb’s job.

Here’s to our fingers crossed!

Farmer’s Market fun!

So once again it’s a post of mix-matched topics but that’s how I do it! Two weeks ago my friend took¬† me to the Farmer’s Market that’s only a mile away, mind you in all the three years I’ve lived here I never knew about it, and got some yummy food!! Booth¬†Candied Onions¬†And this is what I brought home: Too bad the tamales are covered!I’ve been seeing some people in blogosphere making their own laundry detergent and I was curious so I did it!! Here’s the recipe I found…and it smells so yummy! 1 bar¬†Fels Naptha (I used Ivory), 1 1/2 cup Washing Soda (not easy to find), 1 1/2 Borax; you have to¬†grate the bar of soap but when you mix them all up it’s amazing!¬†The cost is roughly $0.06/load, that’s amazing!! My soap!Last Friday I went for a¬†much needed walk with a friend of mine with our dogs, not sure if it was a good idea b/c it was so hot but did it anyway! Lord knows I needed it but my poor babies were beat, they were so tired. Killer, my boy who’s 6, was so wore out halfway home he¬†pulled me over under a tree and¬†just layed down! Stubborn just like his momma. My baby KillerLast night¬†the hubbs wanted to take me to a special place, I love popcorn and it was supposed to be a treat night; needless to say he got twice as much as¬†I did! It’s in Arlington, it’s called Popcorn Stop www.popcorn-stop.com and they have tons of flavors to choose from. I got¬†cheese, blue coconut, and¬†cotton candy (YUM)! I hate saying this¬†but I’m almost out less than a day later. Buckets-o-candy¬†The goodsOne last item up for bragging…sorry I had too b/c I’m so proud! I made¬†some make-up pad removers last night. I read about this somewhere a few weeks ago and wanted to give it a try. I went to Joann’s for some fabric¬†and found the¬†pretty green in the remnant pile (50% off), it was meant to be! Make-up remover pad¬†I love the top one!¬†

(On a more ‘baby’ note, the hubbs and I came to an agreement last night: after he gets back from his work trip in January we can start the process for our¬†first IUI. And if that doesn’t work then we’ll save for the IVF. It may seem like a small step but trust me ladies, this is HUGE for him…like pulling teeth!)

AH!

I have so much to talk about but of course I don’t have time to post it all!! I have a ton of pics to share (vacay to Galveston, 4th trip to OK, anniversary pics, and more mindless crap that I keep putting off).¬†

I’ve been such a slacker for the past couple of months, I just didn’t want to do anything. I shut myself off from the world and I feel like it was much needed. I finally logged into my cyster’s acct yesterday (it had been about 4 months), and a couple of the gals in there emailed me to check up…so sweet! I was just a big ole’ ball of fire yesterday, no reason but that I could be.

Last night I accomplished so many things: 1. Fixed my thrift store find dress that was missing a button on the sleeve (finally wore it 3 months later) 2. Shortened the straps on my new nightgown that was way slouchy 3. Made a slipcover for my heating pad (the original one had gross stains all over it) 4. Finally got to my mound of laundry, about 80% complete 5. (drum roll please) made a pair of yoga pants from a tshirt that was way too big! Yoga Pants¬†I ordered a shirt and had the print put on there a couple of years ago, when they sent it…they decided that I needed 2 sizes larger than what I had asked for. Needless to say I never wore it and it’s been sitting in my closet ever since! I found a tutorial over at www.cutoutandkeep.net¬†and tried it with Heather and then last night I did some for myself…and I love em’!! Here’s a close up of the print on the tshirt: <3¬†Last week I also made some pin cushions from mason jars…another tutorial I found online. Mine didn’t turn out quite the way I intended them to but still cute! Pin Cushion¬†Leah’s bday dinner was at the Melting Pot…so yummy! Here’s us after we were filled up to the rim. Look what I did—>

I found a tutorial for tshirt yoga pants a few weeks ago but was nervous to actually make them. I’ve had this shirt for years and just never wore it and when I found the tutorial I thought of my dear friend Heather…she’s small and anything would fit her so she was my gunea pig. I totally messed up on the band but they were my first pair so give me a break! Now I need to find a huge shirt for me some ūüôā Tshirt Yoga Pants

I made a cute dress ;)

DressI’m about to get off of work…I don’t have much time to post! Hubby is taking me out to dinner tonight, I’m so excited! We haven’t been able to spend too much time together lately, I’ve been REALLY busy. We’re going to Bravo! so if you haven’t been there, you gotta go check it out. I have a busy weekend ahead of me, I’m taking pics of Faith and Erin’s kiddos so hopefully the weather will stay pretty. It’s Texas so we never know what it’s gonna be the next day. Here’s the dress I made for Faith, her mother wanted her in white and didn’t have anything so I whipped this together in an hour or so. It’s not perfect but I think I did¬†pretty good for my first time!¬† Dress Closeup
